We’re pleased to say that we have been named “Best New Brewer” in Greater Manchester by RateBeer! Thank you to everyone who voted and for all the positive feedback we’ve received on our beers!
We thought now would be as good a time as any to write a few words about our journey so far and what you can expect from us at Twisted Wheel over the next year.
As would be the case for most in the industry, our 2020 proved to be a very turbulent year. We have gone from being an all-cask brewery to producing our best beers yet with our Head Brewer Anthony Barrett joining the team early on. We’ve moved premises in our first year of trading, saying goodbye to Standish, and meeting lots of great new people in Warrington.
We have always been ambitious with what we hope to achieve with Twisted Wheel in the craft beer scene. It has always been our intention to brew our favourite styles, focusing on producing the best quality beers we can, and making beer approachable and something to be enjoyed by all.
We’ve invested a lot in our brew-kit over the last 6 months, increasing capacity and bringing canning in-house in Warrington. We want to continue to build a presence in the industry and for the time-being we will be focusing on brewing for small-pack. Although we can’t wait for the day we can start brewing for cask again, we’re taking the opportunity to launch a range of new brews alongside our old favourites.
First up in 2021 will be a return of our 3 core beers, Sunday Sessions, Speed Wobble and Hoodoo Voodoo. After that we’ve got in the pipeline our first sour, another stout collaboration with Love Lane and a special single-hop DIPA with a new hop variety (so new it’s not even named yet!). We even have our first Lager fermenting away in tank right now!
We hope our followers continue to enjoy the beers we make, and who knows, maybe we’ll be voted “Best New Brewer” in Cheshire for 2021…
